THE PROJECT:
University of Utrìn – It’s not a brand. It’s a family matter.

University of Utrìn is a personal project born from the desire to represent, through a sweatshirt, an important part of my family’s history. Volturino, the town where my father was born, plays a key role in this story, being one of the places where I grew up.

In particular, the countryside surrounding the town, where my grandfather built a house and planted a vineyard, is a precious symbol of our family roots. Even today, that same vineyard is carefully tended, passing down the bond with the land and our traditions from generation to generation.
The “Devil’s Chair”, which is the remains of the tower of the ancient Montecorvino castle, is a significant symbol for the entire surrounding area and stands as the backdrop to our vineyard. The project’s logo is a redesign of Volturino’s emblem. The logo features three towers, still standing today, which encompass the entire Volturino territory: Capotorre, the Tertiveri tower, and the Pietra tower (Devil’s Chair).

The name University of Utrìn has a double meaning: on one hand, the word “university” symbolizes the place where I “studied” life, where I learned the values and experiences that shaped me. On the other hand, the choice of English is a tribute to my American roots from my mother’s side of the family.
It’s no coincidence that the chosen sweatshirt is a gray crewneck, which evokes the vintage charm of classic American college sweatshirts.
“Utrìn”, stands for “Volturino” in the local dialect.
